#1227 Friday 18 September

The cement mixer worked in principle ..... but it's too small to handle a 20kg bag of mortar. I'll find a bigger barrel to use.

One of the best ways to calm Kaylia is to take her for a drive .... and she likes to listen to her music on my iPhone...... but somehow she manages to flatten the battery in a very short time.  She's worked out how to unlock the phone using my code!

#1226 Wednesday 16 September

Naomi is in a lot of pain this morning .... a shoulder injury has flared up and caused a sleepless night. We're at the physio to see if they can help.

Mystery object .... what is it?
It's a small plastic barrel with wooden baffles inside ..... a cement mixer for small quantities.....  I saw something similar on the web .... from Canada and not available in Australia.  This is my version .... I'll try it out tomorrow and tell you how it goes.

Kaylia continues to be upset by something ..... it's another mystery. It sounds like she's in pain .... but we can't identify the cause ..... and she can be distracted by a car drive .....  ????

School next year?  Kaylia has been accepted by Ballajura Community College!  Yay!  She will be with her friends .... and in a pleasant environment.  We're happy.

#1225 Tuesday 15 September

I can't help myself ..... I'm sorry ....
THE RABBIT IS GONE ..... Yaaaay!!
I hope we will see the return of some compassion from our government.

On the home front ..... last night was significant as the first night that Kaylia has slept without her pink pillow!

Later:  Kaylia has had a bad afternoon .... we suspect pain .... possibly from not enough water during the day.

#1224 Sunday 13 September

It's been a good day.   Kaylia has been playing independently a lot .... so we've been able to get a lot of house and garden things done.  It's two weeks till burning restrictions ..... so I've been burning stuff!

10:30pm. I've just been down to wake her for the toilet run ..... and I was about 5 minutes too late! Drat!

#1223 Friday 11 September

What a character!  Kaylia is fast developing into a "normal" child!  This morning I went down to wake her for shower time ..... she was sitting on her bed ...... and suddenly pulled the bedding over her head.  She had a very cheeky grin when I started to pull them off .... and the game continued past the point of ceasing to be funny .... just the way it would normally go at her age!

I have high hopes for the person she will grow into..... I think we've given her a really good foundation to becoming a very happy person.

#1222 Thursday 10 September

Happy birthday to Hannah! She's 23 today.   We had cheesecake for tea ..... something new for Hannah and Callum.

#1221 Tuesday 8 September

Oooo ..... the adrenalin is rushing!   The "freebies" on gumtree has given a possibility of gaining 5 lengths of galvanised steel beam ..... 5.5m long.  It's too early in the morning to call the advertiser ...... so I must wait till a respectable time.   The "freebies" is great!

..... and I came down the stairs at 7am ..... keen to call and see if the steel was available ...... and I missed a step and fell down the stairs!   No damage fortunately.

..... Oh - the steel?  I missed out. I was caller #2.

Evening:  Kaylia has just finished the therapy session .... she's enjoying it but as with all routines, she is always keen for the next thing ..... "therapy finish??"

I've done another step on that project today .... it's going well and there's only one or two steps to go.
