I have emptied a gas cylinder and removed the tap so it can be filled with water. When full of water, the cylinder can be safely cut. The top has been cut off. When I have several cylinders prepared, then they will be welded together to make a long tube. This will become the firebox part of the wood gas generator.
This is a photo of a working generator where the gas produced is powering the electric generator in the background. Thus we can power our household by burning scrap wood. By building this wood generator on a larger scale, I can power my Landrover.
